VMDO Architects recognized by the Society for College and University Planning

The firm receives SCUP award for its design of Averett University's new student center

June 6, 2007

The Society for College and University Planning (SCUP) has named VMDO Architects one of the winners of its 2007 National Design Competition. The firm was selected as this year's recipient of the Merit Award for 'Excellence in Architecture for a New Building' for its design of the new Averett University Student Union. The organization will formally present VMDO Architects with the award at its annual conference at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel on July 9, 2007.

As the leader in the field of planning for higher education, SCUP offers an awards program to recognize the accomplishments of those who advance the causes of higher education through excellent planning and design. Each year the organization recognizes firms that demonstrate excellence in planning; excellence in landscape architecture; and excellence in architecture.
