Kenneth
A. Thacker, AIA
| Associate Principal
With over fifteen years of experience as a project architect,
Ken brings a comprehensive range of skills to VMDO, including in
all phases of architectural services. Ken returned to Charlottesville
after working and studying in Seattle and Chicago where he was
an AIA Chicago Award finalist in 1994. In 1996, he won "Charlottesville
Visions," a local competition seeking innovation in design,
land use planning, and community building. Ken is also extensively
involved in neighborhood urban planning issues.
Ken has worked as project architect on several projects for VMDO,
including the University of Virginia’s new Materials Science
Engineering & Nanotechnology Center (Wilsdorf Hall) and the
renovation of Davenport Baseball Stadium. Currently, Ken is the
project manager for the addition and renovation to Daniel Morgan
Middle School in Winchester, Virginia, as well as the addition
and renovation to Manassas Park Middle School.
