Following the addition of two new senior hires to join our Washington D.C. team, DesignWell Magazine has featured the studio’s growth and our firm’s commitment to support the Clean Energy D.C. program.
VMDO opened its second office in Washington D.C. in 2018 in response to the District’s Clean Energy DC Omnibus Act. This Act established the District of Columbia’s course toward operating on 100% renewable energy by 2032, a goal in strong alignment with VMDO’s own values and design principles.
Brian Gruetzmacher, AIA, and Maria Casarella, AIA joined our D.C. team in 2021, bringing nearly 50 years of combined experience to our growing D.C. practice. The office has already expanded its local client base significantly since opening, with major project assignments underway for the DC Department of Parks and Recreation, the Arlington Public School District, George Washington University, and the federal General Services Administration to name a few.
