Athena began working at VMDO after many years of academic and professional experience studying positive adolescent development and how we can improve the education system to better support students and their overall wellbeing. She previously worked in the President’s Office at UVA and supported executive communications and research on University strategic initiatives. Athena has worked with state executive leaders, educational psychologists, policymakers, and educators and is excited to be a member of the VMDO family and help contribute to its work and impact.
Athena has a passion for helping students and creating lasting, positive change in communities. She hopes to realize this passion and vision through her marketing, business development, research, and policy work at VMDO. This same passion aligns with VMDO’s mission to serve our communities and clients, be active listeners, engage and collaborate with one another, and ultimately, use design as a teaching tool to connect people and place.
