In their 2019 Climate Action Plan, Virginia Wesleyan University moved up their commitment to carbon neutrality by ten years while furthering plans to cut emissions and build resilience in the Chesapeake Bay. Catalyzing research and environmental advocacy at the academic crossroads of campus, the Greer Environmental Sciences Center is a reflection of VWU's larger commitment to social responsibility through environmental stewardship and education. The LEED Gold building creates an inspiring sense of place that sets a new standard for how the built environment can facilitate hands-on learning opportunities in the region.
