Diana Fang

AIA

A creative spirit with a curiosity about the built environment, Diana joined VMDO after completing her Master of Architecture at the University of Michigan, where she was a member of NOMAS (National Organization Of Minority Architects). While at graduate school, she focused on designing communities for collective work and play, exploring the boundaries of public and private space, and negotiating the rational and the gestural within form-making. She sees architecture through visual, poetic, and other sensorial lenses, placing great value on the experiential quality of space and place. Having been a graphic artist and digital visualizer for most of her life, Diana is eager to work through various mediums and technologies to bring out the expressive potential of design.

Diana is currently working toward her architectural license through a variety of higher education projects at VMDO. While she calls Charlottesville and Northern Virginia home, her megacity birthplace of Shanghai, China has served as a repeated inspiration for her work.
