His professional experience is diverse and includes community, education, residential, and recreational projects for clients such as Tulane University, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Areas of specialization he brings to VMDO include visualization, modeling, creative and technical writing, as well as a core competence in construction detailing, specification, and administration.

An active fiction writer, essayist, photographer, and visual artist, architecture has appealed to Ethan from the first for its close relationship to other forms of art, its technical complexity, and ultimately, its call to empathy and community.
