Fatin Hameed

Fatin Hameed

Born in Iraq, Fatin Hameed came from a family of artists and was inspired by her grandmother and mother who were both painters. During her studies at the University of Virginia, Fatin visited France on a fellowship called Les Beaux Arts des Fontainebleau, where she participated in a four week workshop and learned about water coloring, stage design, and the history of French architecture. Fatin also visited Jamaica as a part of studio workshop focused on historical preservation in the city of Falmouth. These international experiences have greatly shaped the way she approaches her work.
