Originally from the Northern Mariana Islands and raised in the DC area, Cheyenne Yamada’s exposure to diverse natural, built, and socioeconomic environments inspired her to study architecture. These childhood experiences informed her curiosity about the many ways that buildings shape the people and natural environment around them. Cheyenne shares VMDO’s commitment to sustainable and community-centered design, and she enjoys working on projects that make a positive impact in her local DC community.
