Grady Swanson has always been drawn to building things, finding satisfaction in watching sketched ideas become tangible. As a thesis finalist at Virginia Tech, he explored drawing as a tool for generating form, further enhancing his interest in the relationship between architectural representation and built work. Grady also brings experience in construction, including everything from fabricating timber structures, to cost estimating, to roof inspections. These hands-on experiences shape his appreciation for the art of technical drawing as a designer at VMDO. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, camping, and fishing, along with woodworking and drafting his own furniture designs.
