Raised by two architects, Matthew Yashar grew up in a home that celebrated the finer details of design and construction. Matthew advanced this early passion in architecture school, where he became interested in the relationship between the natural and built environments. For his undergraduate thesis, he designed an elementary school to explore how youth perceive the natural world as they grow and learn. Matthew enjoys synthesizing his interests in education, sustainability, and construction details in his work in the DC studio.
