Mira Abdalla designs architecture to reflect natural beauty, foster well-being, and uplift communities. Her Muslim American heritage illuminates her design approach, drawing inspiration from roots in Egypt and Florida and an appreciation for the Virginia landscape. Mira seeks out opportunities to understand and celebrate the cultures she works with, whether designing resilience hubs with AIAVA’s Emerging Leaders in Architecture Class of 2023, researching psychology and sacred space through her thesis, or drafting and overseeing construction of projects like the Chatham Athletic Health + Wellness Center.
