Molly Bierman’s love of making things with her hands, along with a passion for drawing and painting, drew her to architecture. During her studies, she developed an interest in historic preservation and adaptive reuse, particularly in how they intersect with sustainability. Her thesis, “Permanent Structures; Impermanent Lives,” explored designing buildings with future reuse in mind to avoid cycles of renovation and demolition. As a designer at VMDO, Molly hopes to keep building her knowledge of sustainable design practices. Outside of work, she enjoys painting and sewing, including designing her own clothing patterns.
