Ying started in an architect’s seat, and quickly found herself more drawn to the logic underneath the drawings than the drawings themselves. Always asking why, Ying found her way into BIM full time, building the systems and workflows that let good design get built well.

As BIM Manager at VMDO, Ying maintains the firm’s BIM standards, oversees the digital library, helps the design team refine best practices, and chases down problems so the team can stay focused on design.

Outside of work, she plays music by ear, paints in oil pastel, boulders, and volunteers with Habitat for Humanity’s Women Build.
