Saeed Dornajafi

AIA, LEED AP, WELL AP

Saeed joined VMDO's DC office in 2024, bringing a decade of experience in diverse building types, including K-12, higher education, science and technology, office, retail, and multifamily projects. His passion for education and civic projects aligns seamlessly with VMDO's commitment to creating spaces that serve communities for generations to come. Driven by a passion for design and the transformative power of architecture, Saeed is dedicated to turning ideas into buildings that enrich people's lives. He enjoys working directly with communities and stakeholders to ensure their needs and aspirations are reflected in the final design.

Having lived on two sides of the world in his home country of Iran and his adopted country of the United States, Saeed brings a unique global perspective to his work. Growing up in the ancient city of Shiraz, he was exposed to centuries-old architecture designed to withstand harsh climates. This early exposure instilled in him a deep-rooted belief in the importance of sustainable design, recognizing it as a fundamental principle for every project.

When not designing buildings, Saeed enjoys traveling the world, spending time with family and their beloved cat, and staying active through tennis or pickleball. He also pursues his artistic interests through charcoal drawings, watercolor paintings, and his latest passion of mosaic art.
