Sarah Lutze

Sarah joined VMDO in 2018. She made her way to Charlottesville after receiving her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Raised in the Texas Hill Country and an enthusiastic traveler, Sarah is fascinated by the relationship between architecture and place. She’s inspired by the transformational nature of the profession and is drawn to its ability to leave a lasting and positive impact upon a place. She’s a critical thinker by nature and is always eager to learn something new.

Prior to joining VMDO, Sarah spent a year researching public education in the US and the various ways in which the physical environment impacts academic performance. Before that, she was part of a team selected to expand and modernize homes for Habitat for Humanity San Antonio and part of a different team aimed at reimagining a Meals on Wheels facility in a rural Texas community.

In her free time, Sarah enjoys exploring Charlottesville, reading and hiking with her dog.
