Thae Thae’s journey into architecture began with a curiosity about materials and how they can transform spaces and connect communities. With a background in sustainable materials research, computational design tools, and hands-on fabrication, Thae Thae brings a thoughtful balance of craftsmanship and innovation to every project. After earning her Bachelor’s in Architecture from Virginia Tech, she joined VMDO as a Designer, where she continues to explore her passion for thoughtful, community-centered design.

Growing up in Yangon, Myanmar, Thae Thae was surrounded by architecture that blended traditional aesthetics with functional design, sparking a deep appreciation for how design reflects identity and plays a role in shaping the lives of those who experience it. These values extend beyond architecture, where she’s actively involved in her community, often helping with local events. She also finds inspiration in all forms of creative expression, whether sewing her own clothes or experimenting with new design ideas.
