The Athletic programs at Duquesne University had changed over the last several years. Their facilities had undergone renovations in order to fulfill immediate needs and with little consideration from a long term perspective. The University wanted to develop short, mid and long term needs assessments of the A.J. Palumbo Center and create a document that the University could use to guide decisions for capital planning and seeking donor contributions and solicitations.

VMDO was chosen to compete for the assessment which included: overall aesthetic/functional modernization of the facility, redesign of the President’s Suite, development of new production facilities to manage future video scoreboard and media needs, examination of storage capabilities, reorganization of office spaces, upgrading locker rooms for the Track & Field Programs and enhancing exterior signage.
