We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products or our Services, when you participate in activities on the Website (including the submission of applications for employment), and when you contact us.

The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following: IP address + location, your name, and employment application information including digital portfolio submissions.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information in a timely fashion.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and/or browser and device characteristics — is collected automatically when you visit our Website.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use or browse the Website. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or your personal contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, software and device characteristics, operating system, language preferences, referring URLs, device name, country, location, information about how and when you use our Website, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of

our Website and for internal analytics and reporting.

Like many businesses, we also collect information through cookies and similar browser-based technologies.

WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE?

In Short: We only share information to comply with laws, to provide you with services, to protect your rights, to fulfill business obligations, or with your consent.

We may process or share your data in the following circumstances, which are not intended to be exhaustive:

  • Consent: We may process your data if you have given us consent to do so.
  • Legitimate Interests: We may process your data when it is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests as a company.
  • Performance of a Contract: If we have entered into a contract with you, we may process your data to fulfill the terms of our contract.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your data when we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, a judicial proceeding, court

order, or legal process, such as in response to a court order or a subpoena (including responses, document production, and/or disclosures to public authorities for national security purposes or law enforcement objectives).

  • Vital Interests: We may disclose your data when we reasonably believe it is necessary to investigate, prevent, or address potential violations of our policies, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the safety of any person, and illegal activities, or when the data becomes actual or potential evidence in litigation which involves us.
  • Business Transfers. We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company.

DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store your information.

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to access or store personal information. We are providing with this privacy notice a copy of our Cookie Notice, which includes specific information about how we use these technologies and how you can refuse certain cookies.

IS YOUR INFORMATION TRANSFERRED INTERNATIONALLY?

In Short: We may transfer, store, and process your data in countries other than your own.

Our servers are located in our offices in Charlottesville, Virginia. If you are accessing

our Website from outside our offices, please be aware that your data may be transferred to, stored, or processed by us using those servers and by those third parties with whom we may share your data (please refer to the section titled, "WILL YOUR INFORMATION BE SHARED WITH ANYONE?" above), who may be located temporarily or permanently in countries other than your own.

If you are a resident in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom (UK), the other countries through which your data may pass may not have data protection laws or other similar laws that are as strong or comprehensive as those in the EEA or the UK.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice, except as we are otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (e.g., tax or accounting requirements). We will presumptively destroy your information within five (5) years of its collection in the absence of a more specific policy or legal obligation. Employment application

information is not subject to this presumptive requirement; this information may be kept indefinitely if used exclusively for employment purposes.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to keep your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if these solutions are impossible (because, for example, your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from further processing until deletion or anonymization becomes possible.

DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to individuals who are less than 18 years old (a “minor”).

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to minors. By using the Services, you represent that you are not a minor, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor using the Services and that you consent to the minor’s use of the Services. If we learn that we have collected a minor’s personal information, we will attempt to limit the minor’s access to the Services and take reasonable measures to promptly delete or anonymize the data. If you learn that we have collected any data from a minor who was not authorized by a parent or guardian to use the Services, please contact us at info@vmdo.com.

WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: You may review, change, or terminate your account at any time.

If you are a resident of the EEA or UK and you believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you have the right to complain to your local data protection supervisory authority. You can find the contact details for your local data protection supervisory authority at the following website: http://ec.europa.eu/justice/data-protection/bodies/authorities/index_en.htm.

If you are a resident of Switzerland, contact details for the relevant data protection authorities are available at the following website: https://www.edoeb.admin.ch/edoeb/en/home.html.

Cookies and similar technologies: Most Web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually set your browser to remove stored cookies and to reject future cookies. If you choose to remove cookies or reject cookies, certain features or services of our Website may cease to function. To opt-out of interest-based advertising by advertisers on our Website, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/.

WHAT CONTROLS EXIST FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES?

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not- Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to request opt-out from monitoring and data collection concerning your online browsing activities. At this stage, no uniform technology standard exists for recognizing and processing DNT activations. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

DO CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS HAVE UNIQUE PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Yes, if you are a resident of California, you have unique rights under state law regarding access to your personal information.

If you are a California resident and want to make such a Shine the Light request, please submit the request in writing to us at info@vmdo.com.

If you are a minor, you reside in California, and you have a registered account for use on our Website, you have the right to request removal of unwanted data that you publicly post on

the Website. To request removal of such data, please contact us at info@vmdo.com. Your email should include the email address associated with your account and a statement that you reside in California as of the date of the request.
