Andres Pacheco is an architect and project designer with more than two decades of experience. His education and early work in Ecuador instilled in him an appreciation for the beauty of simplicity and the art of maximizing limited resources. Andres approaches design through bold ideas that are rooted in local context and deliver healthy, lasting benefits for users. He has served as project designer on many nationally recognized buildings, including the renovation of Thurston Hall at George Washington University and the Lubber Run Community Center.  

As Co-director of Design, he plays a key role in advancing the firm’s engagement with emerging methodologies and global architectural discourse. His expertise in adaptable and sustainable design directly supports VMDO’s mission to shape resilient, future-focused spaces. 

In addition to his work at VMDO, Andres serves on the AIA Committee on Design, promoting excellence in architecture and urbanism through education, advocacy, and professional connection.
