Known for his strong design vision and ability to bring clarity to complex challenges, Ben Thompson is a second-generation architect with twenty-one years of experience designing thoughtful, high-performing learning environments. As one of VMDO’s lead Project Designers, Ben guides projects from early concept through completion with a focus on creativity, collaboration, and technical excellence. He has led the design of numerous K-12 projects in a variety of school districts including Charlottesville City Schools, Norfolk Public Schools, and international schools for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
Ben is passionate about building relationships through a collaborative design process. He works closely with clients, stakeholders, and community members to translate their goals into inspiring, functional spaces.
