Born, raised, and educated in Istanbul, Turkey, Mert Kansu has deep respect for a building’s social and cultural context. He enjoys architecture for its ability to change how people feel and interact with each other and their surroundings. As a project manager, Mert works with clients and project teams to ensure that goals are established and achieved. This ensures that buildings are constructible, sustainable, and address the needs of the communities they serve.
Outside of project work, Mert is active as a critic and juror for studios at James Madison University and University of Virginia, and he writes for the World Architecture Community. He participated in AIA Virginia’s 2020 Emerging Leaders in Architecture program.
